Son Bonet Airport
Guide To Son Bonet AirportSon Bonet airport is a non controlled category three airport which means that it can be used only for sports flights, the flying school and general aviation. Four hangars are provided by the airport: the first one is owned by the Mallorca's Royal Flying Club. Each of the hangars also provides warehouses and office space which are occupied by commercial and private entities and individuals. A single runway (the 06/24) handles all of the private traffic.
There is also a flying school for helicopters situated within the airport complex. In the airport grounds you will be able to see many old airplanes which give you a glimpse of the airport's history which dates back to 1916.
All in all, the Son Bonet airport is definitely worth a visit for those who are interested in general aviation. Most of the car hire companies on the island will give you a map of the island and further information on how to get there.
