Guide To La Gomera AirportLa Gomera is the most modern airport in the Canary Islands and is located in the south of the island 34 kilometres from the capital city of San Sebastian. It operates domestic flights to Gran Canaria and Tenerife Norte and South via Binter Canarias airlines.
The passenger terminal was opened in June 1999. It is a two storey building which is of typical Canary Island architecture with an entrance which is a replica of the door of the Church of the Assumption in San Sebastian where Christopher Columbus prayed before starting his voyage of discovery to America.
Public transport is limited at this airport, and the only way to explore this fascinating island is by foot or car. It is therefore recommended that you arrange car hire with one of the companies based at the airport prior to your journey.
