Guide To Gran Canaria AirportThe airport in Gran Canaria celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2005 and is one of the busiest in Spain. In 1946 it became a customs airport and opened for international and domestic flights. Today there are numerous airlines flying to Gran Canaria from European cities and beyond.
Each of the three zones (Zona A, Zona B and Zona C) are used for special flights. EU flights are operated in zone A, Non EU flights in zone B and inter island flights in zone C. On the ground floor you will find the arrivals hall where fast food outlets, bars, shops, a post office and car hire desks are located.
Check-in desks and the departures area is situated on the first floor along with duty free shopping facilities and several other shops including toys, sweets, newspaper/press, leather goods, florist, jewellery. Cafes, restaurants, a small supermarket, an internet café (Zona A) and information desks can also be found there.
Six car hire companies (zone A), a VIP lounge, a bank, ATM's, a medical centre a conference room, a chapel (zone B), a playground for children (zone A), disabled facilities and a car park (short and long term) with about 2000 spaces complete the airports facilities.
