Guide To Alicante AirportThe town of Alicante is situated just eleven kilometres south of the airport with a journey time of approximately 20 minutes. The easiest way to reach your destination is by arranging car hire should be done before your journey either on line, by fax or telephone to ensure that a car is ready and waiting for you on arrival. The various car hire companies at Alicante Airport can all be found in the Arrivals Hall next to the baggage reclaim area
The airport only has one terminal and all the check in desks are located in the same area of the departures hall. Because it is a small airport which serves some heavy passenger traffic through the summer months, and because of the limited space some carriers only have one or two desks, you should allow plenty of time to check in before your departure.
There are two car parks located opposite and next to the airport terminal with a total capacity of 1500 spaces, some of which are for disabled travellers. There is a large area at the entrance of the terminal building which is designated for disabled travelers. Passengers requiring special assistance or wheelchairs should inform the airline in advance. If you have used a car hire company while in Alicante, then they have a special area where you can leave the vehicle and sign the necessary paperwork.
If you are unfortunate enough to have missing luggage, then the lost property offices are located on the ground floor. You will be asked to fill in a standard form (which is available in English) to let the airline know where you are staying. Normal procedure is that a driver from Alicante Airport will deliver it to you the following day.
Alicante Airport has all the usual facilities required when traveling including a bureau de change, ATMs and post office. The Costa Blanca Plaza shopping and entertainment area has four restaurants and eight cafes to make sure there are plenty of refreshments available. There are three duty free outlets and numerous shops including a newsagents, CD and video store, 24 hour pharmacy, gift emporium and jewellers.
