Getting To Bilbao AirportBilbao Airport is located just 12 km from the city of Bilbao n the north of Spain. It is not just an airport but also a great symbol of the city which has been has been designed by the Architect Santiago Calatrava.
The airport operates flights from Spanish cities such as Madrid, Alicante, Tenerife, Palma de Mallorca, Barcelona or Valencia and also from international ones. From the UK you are able to fly to Bilbao from Heathrow or Stansted with Iberia, Easyjet or British Airways.
There is no train service from the airport to the city which means that you will have to take the bus or the taxi. Additionally you might also use one of the car rental agencies which can be found at the P0 level.
A taxi rank is located outside the terminal and to get to the centre of Bilbao is about € 20. Buses run every half hour from 06.15 in the morning until midnight. A ticket will cost approximately € 1.15. Despite the other options you should still think about car rental – especially if you are coming to Bilbao to discover the city and the area around it.
